SOS stands for “Scripps Outstanding Speakers”.
SOS Toastmasters is a group of people dedicated to improving their speaking skills in front of large and small audiences alike. Our diverse backgrounds and varied careers make for lively and engaging meetings.
We meet the first three Tuesdays of the month in the Beckman building of The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California from 12:15 to 1:15 to practice our speaking techniques.
Public speaking opportunities include planned speeches, extemporaneous responses and various speaking roles required to run each meeting. We strive to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to hone their skills in a positive and supportive atmosphere.
